How to Support Artists: A Practical Guide

How to support artists in different ways that make a big impact.

As a professional artist, I’ve heard it all:

“I wish I could support your work, but…”

“Art is so cool! I just don’t know where to start…

Or the classic: “Do you really make a living doing that?”

The truth is, supporting artists is not rocket science, but it’s also more than liking a post and saying, “So cool!” If you truly want to uplift the arts—whether it’s me (yes, shameless plug incoming) or another artist whose work resonates with you—here are some actionable, straightforward ways to do it.

Doors open December 4th from 19:30

But first, the big news: I’m thrilled to invite you to my first curated solo exhibition, Gods & Monsters, on December 4th at il-Kamra ta’fuq. It starts at 7:30 pm, and you can expect free drinks, tasty nibbles, and an evening that blends mythology, introspection, and, yes, a touch of good old existential questioning. It’s a big milestone, and your support would mean the world to me.

Show Up

It sounds simple, but just being there makes a huge difference. Art doesn’t exist in a vacuum—it thrives in dialogue with its audience. So come to the show. Wander through the works, immerse yourself in the themes, and maybe even engage me in conversation about the inspiration behind Gods & Monsters. Your presence validates the months of effort and thought that went into creating these pieces.

Spread the word

Social media is a powerful tool for visibility. Share the exhibition details on your platforms, or even better, bring someone with you—a friend, a partner, a curious stranger. The arts depend on word of mouth, and you never know who might discover something meaningful at the event.

Support financially, if you can

Yes, buying art is one of the most direct ways to support an artist. Original works, prints, or even smaller items like postcards or merch—it all helps. But support doesn’t have to mean a major financial investment. Even attending and engaging in thoughtful conversation is a form of contribution.

Connect Us

Maybe you know someone in the art world—a collector, a curator, or a gallery owner. Or perhaps you work somewhere that needs artwork for its walls. Advocating for artists in spaces we may not have access to is invaluable. Art often spreads through networks, and introductions can lead to exciting opportunities.

Why It Matters

Art connects us to what it means to be human. It challenges, inspires, and even heals. Supporting artists ensures that this work continues, enriching our communities in ways we often take for granted.

So, mark your calendar:December 4th, 7:30 pm at il-Kamra ta’fuq. Join me for Gods & Monsters, an exploration of duality, myth, and the spaces in between. It’s a celebration of creativity, and I would be honored to share it with you.

And who knows? You might leave with a new appreciation for the arts—or at the very least, some great nibbles and a story to tell.

See you there! (And don’t forget to practice your hmm, yes face—it’ll come in handy.)
