Today is my first day at the Bored Peach Club!

I have two beautiful weeks to sink my teeth into working full-time on my art. Let's take a look at what I have planned:

Bored Peach Club Art Residency
Bored Peach Club

Pinch me! Today I start my first art residency. There's a mixture of excitement and nervousness as I begin this 2-week journey, but I have a great itinerary planned. Here's how it's going to go:

Events

There will be three main parts that will make up the body of the residency. Number one is the pop-up exhibition. My goal with this event is to make it a cosy, intimate experience with short stories accompanying many of the hung artworks. The connecting thread of all of these works is an exploration between abstract expression and the figurative narratives. The idea was to dive into an exercise of letting go and adding complexity within the compositions. The exhibition is ongoing throughout the residency, so if you can't make it to the opening on March 2nd, you are still welcome. You can find the location at the Bored Peach Club.

The second event will be the main meat of why I am resident artist, and that is to work on the largest piece in my collection for an upcoming solo show December 2024 at Il-Kamra Ta'Fuq. The body of work is tentatively called, Gods & Monsters, and will be featuring the reworking of Greek myths depicted in film, sculpture, paintings and drawings in a sensory experience. The specific artwork I'll be starting is based of the myth of the Sirens.

The closing event will be for the artists, and that is a mythology-themed life drawing event. I'll be giving a curated experience with themed music, dramatic lighting and props to create an inspirational atmosphere. Only 10 EUR for 2.5 hours of drawing with refreshments and a 30 minute break in between. Payment can be made at the door on March 14th, of course. For organisation purposes, I'd appreciate anyone able to book their place in advance, and this can be done via Revolut to: @jessict5vi

See You There!

Thank you so much for all of your support. Let me know if you're coming to visit, and I'll put the coffee on. All my love! XOXO
