Reflecting on my art residency in Gozo, Malta
Nestled in the center of the Mediterranean, my two-week art residency proved to be an unforgettable journey of artistic exploration and cultural immersion. Sponsored by the Bored Peach Club and the Arts Council Malta, this opportunity not only allowed me to delve into my work but also to connect with the community of the island.

A Brief Review
The centerpiece of my residency was undoubtedly the start of my largest oil painting yet—a depiction of the sirens from Greek mythology. Inspired by the Mediterranean landscapes of Gozo, and the especially windy and rainy weather during my stay, I created a narrative that speaks about the pull of artistic inspiration, echoing the allure of the sirens' song. But my residency wasn't confined to the studio. As an artist committed to community engagement, I seized the opportunity to share my passion with the local community. Hosting a solo pop-up exhibition, I invited visitors to enjoy an earlier collection of my work, offering a glimpse into the inspirations and experimental techniques behind my current body of work.

Goodbye Gozo
As I bid farewell to Gozo and reflect on the creativity and community that defined my residency, I am filled with gratitude—for the support of the Bored Peach Club, for the warm hospitality of the local community, and for the opportunity to immerse myself in the magic of this enchanting island. Though my time here may has been fleeting, the memories and inspirations I've gathered will continue to fuel my artistic journey for the year ahead.
